Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Ok I'm sooooo behind with this blog!!! Yikes!!!

A stomach bug invaded our house from Dec 19-26th. I luckily evaded it- the rest of the family was not so lucky. Poor Izzy had the first and most severe case of it- ending up in the emergency room after 36 hours of profuse vomiting (initially 6 times in 5 hours). Thankfully she was deemed not dehydrated and was on the mend shortly afterwards. However it also meant we missed out on our church Christmas Pageant- so no Angel Hannah or Sheep Owen this year (although they can sing most of the songs for you anyways). Owen was next to get sick, then Hannah and Charlie waited until Christmas was over.

We still had a very enjoyable Christmas- waking up to open stockings and then heading downstairs to see if Santa left anything else. Boy did he!! Owen was super excited to find Spike (a remote control dinosaur) under the tree. Izzy thought he was pretty cool- until he roared and then she ran! She is finally getting used to him again- although still gives him a wide berth when walking around him. Hannah has been enjoying her foot powered Razor scooter- mainly in the house but does venture out when pavement can be seen. The both scored new Playmobil in addition to their Playmobil Advent Calenders. Lots of new books to add to our collection, some new outfits (including a much loved Star Wars T-shirt), crafts, sleds, and hand knit mittens from Granny (who at 95 years old still makes wonderful, warm mittens). Izzy got help opening presents and still was not sure what to make of this day, by next year she will be right there with the older two. Later in the day we went to Mima and Pop's house for brunch and opened even more presents and caught up with Uncle Robert.

Hannah enjoyed a few playdates over her Holiday vacation and we spent a very quiet New Years Eve at home. New Years day was spent cheering on Penn State at Mima and Pops along with the visiting Uncle Don, Heidi and Taylor. Also more eating!

The first weekend in January Grandy and Grampy visited with yet more presents and lots of hugs. They babysat so Charlie and I could go out to eat and drink with our favorite bunch of friends. We also happened to get persuaded to participate in the Snowman Adventure. A crazy winter race where one partner sleds down a hill and then runs 2 miles, the next leg the other partner sleds down a hill and then bikes 4 miles, the final leg both partners sled down the hill together to the finish line! Wish us luck http://www.snowmanadventure.com

I think that is everything in a nutshell since the last post. enjoy the photos below.
